Closing Reflection

Google Docs version (to print or share): Module 2 Closing Reflection

Think back to the Immersive Scenario that you read at the start of this module. Remember, you were a new employee at an organization and had two distinct first-day-of-work scenarios.

Student of color learning from home sits in front of a computer screen and looks toward the camera with a smile.

Now, imagine that you are managing those “offices” and your students are showing up for their first day. Given all that you have explored in this module, reflect on how you will establish a welcoming and affirming remote learning environment.

  • How will you ensure that your students have a voice in your classroom? In the school? In the district?
  • What specific strategies will be put in place to ensure that the learning environment is a community of scholars?
  • Why are parents/caregivers an important part of the learning community, and how will you engage them throughout the year?
  • What structures and strategies will be put into place in your remote learning environment that will empower and engage students in the learning process?
